Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions govern all bookings and purchases made with Iceland Discover (“IDT ehf.”, “we”, “us”), a company registered in Iceland operating sea tours from the Old Harbour, Reykjavík.

1. Bookings & Payment

All bookings are made through our online booking system (Bókun) or by contacting us directly. A booking is confirmed once payment has been received and you have received a confirmation email. Full payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Prices are displayed in ISK and include all applicable taxes. Iceland Discover reserves the right to correct pricing errors before confirming a booking.

2. Cancellation by the Customer

You may cancel your booking free of charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled departure time. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before departure are non-refundable.

To cancel, contact us by email at contact(at)icelanddiscover.is, quoting your booking reference.

Refunds are processed within 5–10 business days to the original payment method.

3. Changes by the Customer

Date changes are subject to availability and must be requested at least 24 hours before the original departure. We will do our best to accommodate changes at no extra charge.

4. Cancellation or Changes by Iceland Discover

We reserve the right to cancel or modify tours due to adverse weather conditions, rough sea conditions, safety concerns, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control. In such cases you will be offered:

• A full refund, or
• A free rebooking to an alternative date

We are not liable for any additional costs incurred as a result of a cancellation (e.g. flights, accommodation or other travel arrangements).

5. Weather & Safety

The safety of our guests and crew is our highest priority. All tours operate subject to weather and sea conditions. Our captains make the final decision on whether a departure is safe to proceed. Departures may be delayed, shortened or cancelled at any time if conditions deteriorate.

Iceland’s weather is unpredictable. We strongly recommend dressing in warm, windproof and waterproof layers regardless of the season.

6. Health & Fitness

Guests must be in reasonable physical health to participate in our tours. Some tours, particularly our RIB Speedboat tours, involve significant movement and are not suitable for guests who are pregnant, have back or neck problems, or have serious heart conditions. Please check the individual tour page for age and fitness requirements before booking.

By completing a booking you confirm that you and all members of your party meet the requirements for the chosen tour.

7. Conduct

Guests are expected to follow all instructions given by the captain and crew at all times. Iceland Discover reserves the right to refuse boarding or remove any guest from a vessel if their behaviour poses a safety risk or causes distress to other guests, without refund.

8. Liability

Iceland Discover carries full public liability insurance. Our liability for any claim arising from a tour is limited to the value of the booking. We are not liable for loss of personal belongings, indirect loss, or consequential damages.

Guests participate in all tours at their own risk. Iceland Discover is not responsible for accidents, injury or illness arising from a failure to follow crew instructions or individual health conditions not disclosed at the time of booking.

9. Wildlife

We observe Iceland’s marine wildlife in accordance with the responsible whale watching guidelines issued by IceWhale. Sightings of whales, dolphins, puffins or other wildlife cannot be guaranteed. Where no cetacean sightings occur on a Whale Watching tour, guests will be offered a complimentary repeat tour.

10. Privacy

We collect and process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), as applicable in Iceland through the EEA Agreement.

11. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Iceland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Icelandic courts.
